--- ALL REGISTRATIONS ARE DONE ONLINE ---
Hobe Sound Little League (HSLL) serves all of Hobe Sound, Stuart, and Tequesta (all Martin County for Softball). Players are required to live within the HSLL boundary or go to school within the boundary to be eligible to participate in the league. Please use the Little League finder app, Little League Finder, BEFORE registering. If you choose to play in our league and are out of boundary please contact us ASAP to discuss the options available to you.
We recommend you use the guidelines below when choosing a division to register your player. The recommended age divisions seen below are for registration purposes only:
- T-Ball: 4 - 5 years old
- Machine Pitch I: 6 - 7 years old
- Machine Pitch II: 8 - 9 years old
- Minor: 10 - 11 years old
- Major: 12 year old
- 50/70: 13 year old
- Senior: 14 - 16 years old
Hobe Sound Little League uses the "School Enrollment Form" as the primary proof of residency. Please print this form and have the school administration sign the form to verify that your player attends that school. If you do this form then no other proof of residency (i.e. don't need the 3 proofs of residency) is required. Bring the signed form to tryouts along with the Medical Release.
You DO NOT need to have all the forms completed in order to complete the online registration.
Fall Baseball:
Practices:
Fall season is focused on developing players and maintains two practice nights per week, per team. These practices are always on a weeknight and are made at the coaches discretion. Our practice fields are JV Reed Park and William "Doc" Myers Park. All players will be notified AFTER evaluations of which team they are assigned and what the practice nights will be designated for that team. We try to help resolve practice night conflicts on a case by case basis. Any issues with scheduling need to try and be handled directly with the assigned coach.
Games:
ALL FALL Season games are played Saturdays with times based on age/division starting with youngest and ending with oldest divisions. Every year there are small adjustments made to this based on number of teams and based on if we inter-league with other Little League teams.
Hobe Sound Little League Fall 2024 FAQ
⚾ What is fall ball and how is it different than spring?
Fall ball focuses more on player development as opposed to competition. It is a perfect time for players to learn new skills, try new positions, and continue to learn the game.
⚾ Can we still register and how?
Registration closes on 8/16/24. Visit www.hobesoundlittleleague.com to register today.
⚾ When are evaluations and what do we need to bring?
Evaluations are for all machine pitch, minors and majors players and they will be held at JV Reed at 9AM for machine pitch and 10:15AM for minors and majors. Please bring a signed copy of the medical release form (copies will be available at the field), a glove, a helmet and a USA approved bat if you have one.
⚾ My child is t-ball. What do I do instead of evaluations?
There will be a t-ball parent meeting on 8/17/24 at JV Reed at 11AM.
⚾ What if we can’t make it to evaluations?
Please send an email to [email protected] letting us know. Your child will still be drafted to a team.
⚾ I don’t know if I signed my player up for the correct division. What do I do?
Please speak to the coaches about your concerns at evaluations. Ultimately, we will place them in the correct division based on their ability at evaluations and what is safest for the player.
⚾ When will I know what team my child is on?
Drafts will occur directly after evaluations. You will be contacted by your coach after teams are formed.
⚾ Can I request a coach or to be on a team with a friend?
We want fall ball to be fun! Therefore, we will try our best to honor coaching and buddy requests, but ultimately we use a draft system to ensure each team is balanced so we can not guarantee placement. To request a coach or buddy, you must email [email protected] BEFORE evaluations. This applies only to fall ball and does not apply to spring ball.
⚾ When and where are practices?
Practices begin the week of 8/26/24. All practices will be at JV Reed or Doc Myers Park unless otherwise noted by your coach. Practices are determined by your coach. Each team (MP and above) will practice two nights a week (one field night and one cage night). T-ball will have practices once a week.
⚾ What days and times are games played?
Games begin on 9/7/24 and will go through November. All games for every level will be played on Saturdays at JV Reed (unless otherwise noted on the schedule) with times based on age/division starting with the youngest and ending with the oldest division.
⚾ How do we communicate with coaches?
We use the Game Changer app for all communication. Please download the app. You will be notified once your child has been assigned a team.
⚾ Are there scholarships or financial assistance available to those that need it?
Yes! Please email [email protected] for more information.
⚾ More questions?
Please email [email protected]
Spring Baseball Season:
Our Spring Season games are played on the following days based on division but sometimes are changed based on scheduling conflicts and number of teams.
Spring Baseball:
- T-Ball: Friday Nights (JV Reed)
- Machine Pitch I: Saturdays (JV Reed)
- Machine Pitch II: Thursdays and Saturdays (JV Reed)
- Minor: Tuesdays and Saturdays (JV Reed with potential travel to Lyngate, Citrus & Sailfish Parks)
- Major: Wednesdays and Saturdays (JV Reed with potential travel to Lyngate, Citrus & Sailfish Parks)
- 50/70: Any day of the week and Saturday (Doc Myer with travel across Martin & St. Lucie County: Schedule done by District 17)
- Senior: Any day of the week and Saturday (Doc Myer with travel across Martin & St. Lucie County: Schedule done by District 17)
Week night games start at 6:30pm and can run until 9pm but generally are finished by 8pm.Rainouts are not guaranteed to be rescheduled but when possible we reschedule the game for the first available open day/time.Practices are scheduled based on team manager requests and around the games so it is very difficult for us to tell you exactly what day you will practice. Your team may be required to practice at JV Reed or Doc Myers. During the spring season we host most teams, so we have 2 practice times available per day on each field. The first practice time starts at 5:30pm (usually reserved for MP1 and lower divisions) and the second starts at 7pm (usually reserved for MPII and higher divisions). We do everything we can to get all teams an early practice time but in the event we have 25+ teams it is very difficult to guarantee all teams practice early. Most teams practice 1 time per week but can practice more if the coaches feel it is necessary.
To sign up your child, choose the "Available Programs" for your player and follow the steps for registration. You will be pointed to the appropriate division based on you child's age. Because Little League has divisions that overlap based on the player's age, there may be more than one program available. Pick the division they played in last year or the next division up.
All players in Machine Pitch II and up are drafted to a team based on skill level. If a player is not drafted in the division they are evaluated in then they are automatically moved down to the next division. So the division you register for may or may not be the actual division your player plays in during the season. To learn more about how we draft players you can read the "HSLL Evaluation Process" document.
We recommend you use the guidelines below when choosing a division to register your player. The recommended age divisions seen below are for registration purposes only:
